Once again bringing back some of the beautiful designs from the past to meet their latest edition... we have a popular series from Walls since 2015. I started trading Walls in 2016 when I saw the adorable 4pcs children set that comes in a beautiful red folding screen (click here to view) after which I had to hunt down their 2015 kids pair. 2017 was a little let down for me as they took on a rather simple floral theme but came back all kawaii thereafter with Tsum Tsum in 2018 & 2019. Last year they made another change with a two standalone themed sets redeemed separately in different venues. My verdict, the little bulls & kitties win so far > <
Ah Huat is in the house with his grand kids since 2017 while SDS a continuing zodiac series well at least for the last two years as the ones before were not and I only have 2019, 2017 & 2016 (you can follow the link to my FB album photo, click away). I couldn't decide which layout to put up here so keeping both for now. Which one looks nicer?
Here's one of my favorite Anime themed series from Claz'room which I am loving more each year. This year the golden bull ride has the most prominent and flashy zodiac since the little monkey. Check out their lovely table calendar design too over at my facebook page (click here).
From the tiny little hands and feet we have the babies milk and diapers red packets series. Fiffy has increased it's set from four to five pieces this year with a change of the flap while Mamil Gold downsized their kids but up the size and number of pieces. They had a few years break since their dolphin series in 2013 & 2014. Next we have Merries my favorite bunnies hopping around since 2014. This big family went through quite a lot from 8pcs set to pairs, moved back up to 4pcs set, from horizontal to landscape, hologram to glossy finishing.
I have always been a fan of Caring designs and they have gone through many changes since I started collecting in 2014. The family house set of four really caught my attention back then but they cut back to pairs after that for five years in a row and came back with a 4pcs field mice set in 2020 which is officially my favorite so far. Notice the change of their flap layout throughout the years too and this year it's a new flap with the continuance of the sweet color tone of pink and red.
Another Pharmacy to go after their red packets is of course Watson and they have had lovely designs in the past especially the floral sets back in 2018 & 2018. 2019 was rather plain for me but 2020 came back with an opera bang. Maintaining their 3pcs set is this year's simpler floral trio that is a little simple compared to the past. My collection started with their monkey set in 2016, lots of monkeys in four different colors.
Chef Wan nailed the floral motif with the right colors and boldness for the second consecutive years. Although taking a step back from a pair to just a single piece this year, the illustration is more natural with the birds, butterflies and of cause the giraffe as well (did you spot the long neck beauty?) Also they have another piece of the peacock for Hari Raya too, find it over at Scenic & Floral.
Cosway floral flaps are back for another year and don't they look delightful together. I still like the rice bowl the most and I also prefer the previous floral set from Brands too. 2021 has a sharper tone but my favorite flowers are no longer the main attraction. Birdies are one of my favorite especially if they are colorful and printed on rubbery material like KDK even though just a single piece compared to 2020 4pcs crane set. 2019 floral pair was quite nice too but I missed out on their beautiful gold fish pair in 2018 (failed to trade on several occasions).
Since my participation in Hwa Loong Glass Facebook giveaways in 2018, the passion for their building motif has grown into a beautiful series. Look how lovely the purple edition this year with that adorable little cow. There are quite a number of collectors hunting for the doggy which I happen to have extra for exchange but after approaching me, quite apparent that they are not serious adopting this cute basset home. One of them even said and I quote " I have a lot to offer but no time to take picture, will let fate take its course " omg, what does that even mean? (LOL)
We have Aiken next and the sweet pink shades has continued for 3 years now from their floral duo in 2019 to the single mouse and the moo moo pair this year, Let's see if the tiger will be as gentle as them next year > <
I have participated and even approach JS Blind directly (via FB) to request for their red packets since last year but they just went silent on me (hmm). Had the chance to trade them back which I did not hesitate because of their fairy tale like illustration. This year they had reduced their mice pair to a single design and brought us the magical unicorn theme.
Brew House zodiac in cheong sam series has definitely got collectors chasing after since their piggies in 2019 and this year's oxen actually has grown bigger in size, literally ^_^
Zenne cattle pair definitely made an entrance to the Ox year with their pink and yellow breed. The unique flap design stands out instantly and I do feel it's their best so far. I am quite sure I traded their doggy piece back but I just couldn't find them anywhere hence my zodiac series since 2015 is missing their 2018 piece as well as the older horse piece in 2014.
I am lucky to have won these zodiac trios by United Wealth for two years in a row which allowed me to have this delightful continuation. This year's oxen are definitely looking livelier especially with the lion dancing head gear on the top. Wagyu More have not gotten back to their set (2019) instead continued with the single design from 2020. Their Wagyu red mascot have literally shrunk from whole body to just the head, from front to the back of the red packet (hmm).
Above we have An Xin oxen illustration bringing us more colors than before.;Paper is thinner though > < Next is Ah Weng Koh 阿荣哥 with their zodiac series that I have managed to gather since their 2019 piggy. Notice the different color used each year for their 荣 (Weng)?
Below is Eggette Lab and their happy chicks, always with the zodiac head gear to celebrate the new year. Unfortunately I didn't manage to get their 2019, bummer!
Vivo is adorable with their happy family extension this year, their first set so far, third with the lion dancing motif and they are delightful together. We have Darlie cartoon characters returning with Hello Kitty and friends followed by Maica a series that I began collecting back in 2017 a set that I was hunting desperately then. I won their FB giveaway in 2019, traded 2020 and finally this year won the new portrait layout from their FB fan page once again. They have reduced the number of pieces from six to three though and I still like their 2017 the most. What's your take?
The Big Bath family is a jolly bunch to have. Only started to collect them in 2019 which was a round table reunion meal set. The family continues to celebrate another CNY last year with a change in their layout, horizontal in a box. This year the famous eight is back, bigger and better with a beautiful modern interior house backdrop. Bai Zi Gui below returns with another pair of their zodiac series and it's definitely a change of style from their previous mice and piggies.
Ecolite has been quite a fun journey, starting off with their popular round table reunion in 2018 to their less colorful hometown reunion in 2019. Last year mice family is a favorite of mine even though just a single design but the paper-cut casing was a charm. This year the dragon dancing cows piece is quite basic nevertheless compliments the rat family nicely.
Latest additions to the big family series are Mr DIY above and Kow Hock below, both having it's fair share of the zodiac motif, in fact Mr DIY has consistently given collectors the chance to gather their animals since 2016!
Somersby doesn't seem to print every year hence we only have the monkey, rooster, doggy and the latest oxy. Herbalife has been changing every year since my first hanging monkey from them. The cool pup is the other zodiac from them thereafter floral all the way. This year we have the fish joining the series and the quality is the best so far, rubbery and embossed. Also featuring the monkey and doggy only is Acson, took on a plain look in 2017 & 2019 before sending their tiny god of fortune out in a red and pink pair in 2020 and finally this year a full size cai shen ye in a red and yellow pair.
Megalive continues with another trio set but moved away from their building and zodiac motif to just floral this year. Looks like the building was taken over by Minelog, knocked down and refurbished apparently (lol). The 3 years series layout is nothing the same in fact all of three in different layout but they do have one thing in common, can you spot it? Yes that faithful hardworking truck making all it's deliveries through the years > <
Catching a few fishes along the way we have besides Minelog 2020 Koi fish flap, Bosch came out with the goden Koi swimming into the red sea (flap) this year. Daikin fishes were featured back in 2019, a nicer 4pcs set compared to their pair in both 2020 and 2021.
Moving back to the zodiac we have Dulux above with an almost full zodiac series except for 2016 & 2019 which I have excluded. Yes I am bias (lol). KCC mice pair last year and their buffalo pair this year, their doing ok, from plain background to a simple landscape, maybe more colors next? I always feel paint companies should play more with colors somehow they just don't...
I wonder why Popular decided to change it's flap design... same zodiac and color theme for the series, just this little mismatch with the flap. Thanks to Mei Fern for helping me once again to continue another popular series, Bangsar Village. I did not go back to hunt for the older years which are sets and definitely nicer than the singles now. Hometown Hainan Coffee unfortunately for me has moved away from their colorful zodiac series 2015-2018 to a vibrant floral piece in 2020 and beans with baby leafs in 2021, better print qualities but I like the zodiac theme more.
Da Ma Cai continues with their floral motif and the colors are getting more vibrant since my collection in 2019. The back comes with a set of lucky number each paired with a different zodiac . While I have seen collectors completing the full 12pcs zodiac, many just collect a piece regardless of the zodiac behind. I try to get them all if I can but they are definitely not on my priority list.
Below we have Jiu Ji Gong Ah Gong Ah Ma together with the village children lion and dragon dancing. Next is the happy bunch from KK Mart adopted since 2016 and even though singles then I still love them as they are adorable. Last year little grey mouse was a nice surprise after their last zodiac monkey but this year not one or two but five girls came out to play dress up and that cow head gear as well as the sticker on the plastic sleeve gave them a nudge up a level.
Munchies is quite a delight this year with their 满, 满, 满, 满 (mǎn) meaning full, full, full, full or mǎn, mǎn, mǎn, mǎn-chies!! Take a look at how this four pieces set can be rearranged into a different layout over at my facebook album. Tiger (beer) is well all about the tiger and I have them literally on each of their single piece since 2015, my favorites are 2015 & 2016 where the tiger really roared!!
Managed to get the mice trio by The Alley and this year their mascot deer trio too. Unfortunately I missed out their 2018 set that has more colors and actually has my bubble tea cup motif.
Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks is next with not much of consistency in their yearly releases. You can find a few below and the rest of them over at my 2020 YOY page. My favorite so far is the monkey trio which is the very first set that I went to dine in for. None of my family members fancy the food so I have to trade them ever since (◡‿◡˶)
My Purple Cane collection with a surprise freebies of the 2007 & 2010 piece from a Malay collector. I only started to collect from 2015 onward and my favorite so far is their 2020 duo with a change of the flap layout, thicker paper and sharper print quality. I wonder why they decided to revert back to their previous style for 2021. There are more from the past which I quite admire because of their unique illustration. Somehow I am attracted to their tilting heads.
Yakult is next and I definitely owe it to my bestie Cat who happens to be working for them for many years. She not only got me the CNY ones but the Raya edition too. It is a satisfying accomplishment for me when I put them all together especially when they are not quite consistent in their layouts and theme over the years.

GDEX has evolved quite a bit and I am lucky to have their earlier Chinese scenery series from 2011 to 2014 that I like very much. 2015 took a big leap from single to set, from traditional painting to a colorful family reunion celebration. The family motif came back in 2017 and they were just as delightful. The sets continued but the color reduced to just two tones in 2016 and 2018. 2019 saw their first trio and is my least favorite as the illustration was a little old school for me. The mice gave us the biggest set in 2020 and is their first zodiac edition too. The oxen followed but only three made it and only in one color. What would 2022 brings us I wonder...
c o m i n g s o o n . . .
I still have more to upload so do come back to check on the latest. In the mean time, enjoy the ones I have till 2020 and wait for their 2021 to reunite. Toys R Us is a popular all time favorite kids heaven when I was growing up hence a fan of their red packets now. I am still hunting for the monkey, for the third year (hmm).
LEGO zodiac since 2016 are absolutely a keeper with the Lego pals peeping through underneath the flaps. If you are wondering what was before the monkey, just a quick hop over to my personal facebook for the 2015 Lego (click here).
Definitely one of my favorite series since I held their monkey in my hands 4 years ago. Ever since then I have been religiously chasing after Melilea each year and also managed to tracked backwards to catch the white snowy lambs.
Popular is a design that one might just think it's the same every year. That is because they maintained the color, size and zodiac motif since 2015. Look how lovely they are collectively and even though I am not the biggest fan I do appreciate the continuation of the series.
