Just living is not enough...
one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower ♥✿(ˆ⌣ˆԅ) Crabtree & Evelyn has searched the world for natural ingredients and fragrance journeys for over 45 years, bringing joy and sharing every experience with friends and family. Founded in 1968 by Cyrus Harvey, the brand was inspired by the Crabapple Tree and John Evelyn, the 17th century renaissance Englishman whose motto was ‘Explore Everything. Keep The Best’. Cyrus collected soaps and lotions around the world and started a family business that expanded to more than 65 countries today. Did you know that in 1996, Cyrus Harvey sold the company to Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad? It was operated by a subsidiary as CE Holdings with research and development, manufacturing and design continued to be based in the UK and US. Later in 2012, the business was sold to Khuan Choo International Limited in Hong Kong for US$155 million. The brand was subsequently acquired in January 2016 by Nan Kai Corporation of Hong Kong. |

Crabtree and Evelyn has always been close to my heart even before I started my angpow collection. Each year their red packets bring me new memories that continues to warm my heart. Their signature floral motif is delivered with a mixture of gold hot stamping and pink peony in 2017. Slightly thinner paper quality as compared to their 2016 bolder piece that featured silver floral prints on a bright pink background.

2015 design comes in a more softer tone of cream floral with a red background and thinner paper. I still remembered I got a pair from a collector as freebies in 2016 and received the 2016 packets from a non collector in 2017. I do prefer the 2016 design and quality more and it's never too late to add such lovely packets to my Crabtree collection series.

Every year Crabtree and Evelyn gives us freshly designed peony to match their products. The 2015 money packets come with a matching design gift box set while limited edition pouch was included in both 2014 and 2013 in addition to the gift box.

Crabtree and Evelyn painted the town in bright red with a large soothing pink peony and better paper in 2014 as compared to their 2013 design that was much softer in color tone with thinner paper quality as well. The red packets come with pouches for both years.
I remembered receiving the 2013 red packets from an old classmate from secondary school. He found out that I was collecting and told his wife who was so kind to dig out all her leftover red packets from previous years.
This 2012 piece brings back good memories as it was a special gift from a collector who I got to know back in 2015. We traded some red packets and started sharing more. She was collecting Crabtree and Evelyn series as well. Unfortunately she stopped trading shortly after that because of her kids. She wanted to spend more quality time taking care of her family. Collecting, trading (or buying for some collectors) and sorting them out takes up tremendous amount of time. I do hope she is coping on well and maybe one day be able to get back to this hobby of ours eventually.
I received the 2011 single stalk peony with butterflies from a non collector in Singapore who was so kind and generous to pass me a few bags of other red packets as well. It was such a memorable experience from the time she contacted me through FB till she sent them to my cousin in Singapore and finally admiring the treasures at home!
The 2010 design above and the one below are the most different of all from their red packets series so far. Filled with red and grey peonies, they are cream based with a sweet and soothing note. This is also the only year I have the matching box as I had bought their hand cream set that Christmas. I also received the blue design below which I believe it may be a 2009 design as the promoter dug them out from her storeroom.
Not sure if this lovely blue piece is from 2009 or before so if any collectors have the actual year do inbox me.
This 2008 piece is also from the same collector who gave me the 2012, 2014 and 2015 design and out of the four designs, these glittering pink peony are the loveliest. These are definitely not"older" just "better". Hop over to my 2018-2019 Brands & Jewels page to find their latest 2019 set that took a total makeover ^^
I have seen another design from year 2006 but do not have it in my collection. I do wonder what are the other designs that I am missing. So if you have them would love to hear from you.
