The Golden Eggs
I have been collecting my eggs (and keeping them in the basket) since CNY though not as many as I thought I could find/trade but still managed to get enough for a page on it's own. Tried a few headers and finally decided to use the big eyes chick with it's golden shell cap from Cheong Seng Chan. The 6pc set that comes in a soft casing is absolutely too cute especially with those big round innocent eyes!
The next egg is HUGE, definitely the largest this year and it's none other than the holder from Gurney Paragon Mall in Penang. Inside the egg is the golden rooster packet that is looking majestic with it's grand feathered tail. Although just using the golden brown shade, this set is truly unique and a keeper for us collectors. A special thanks to Rex Lee for generously sharing this and a few more below with me.
The set from Vivar Vive above is a mix of four different motifs, golden shaded floral, delicate batik prints, a red rooster and of course the golden eggs which is much smaller in size but each of these 8 tiny eggs are engraved with the prosperous greetings of 吉,祥,如,意 & 財,運,亨,通 meaning good fortune. Vivar being a printing company invested in these fine print designs that once zoomed is pure admiration and appreciation of the beautiful details within. Special thanks to Mei Fern for sharing this lovely set (and many others) with me.
All the way from Hong Kong we have The Link and Lane Crawford, both with their own unique versions of golden eggs. The Link uses more vibrant colors with a couple of little golden and blue roosters, one extra big and one tiny white rooster while Lane Crawford decided to give their eggs legs. Singapore's chicken family from Aberdeen has an Easter egg piece and another three designs of the mother hen with her golden eggs and hatchlings.
Tayaria is well known for their cute money envelopes for years and this 2017 they have given us their version of golden egg in nest. The pair comes in two colors, yellow and pink; Small in size yet delightful, these golden eggs are literally revealed under the chickens in their nests, just lift up the flaps! You can even find their trademark mascot "tayar" which is tire in Malay, popping out from the golden egg at the back of the packet.
Another golden egg surprise above is from Unilever Food Solutions. Single design with a front flap, UFS little rooster pops up holding a yuanbao, also known as sycee, a type of gold ingot currency used in imperial China from its founding under the Qin dynasty.
The rooster, hen & the little chicks (in egg shells) from Woon Mei below is a 4pc chicken family set. There are a few more chicken families under "Family Fun" (click here).

If you like Cheong Seng Chan big eyes chickens then Mah Sing chubby fellas would definitely put another smile on your face. This 3pc set also carries the chicken family theme though the chicks and egg shell is kinda out of proportion. I still love them nevertheless! Zenne is next with it's egg surprise and it is spreading lot's of joy and fortune with the flap of it's wing, brilliant design. The wings are kept under it's front eggy rooster flap.
Here comes two popular chick-in-the-egg from Skechers & Singapore's United Square. Good quality, short but not too small in size, Skechers' chicks are one of my favorites, thanks to a kind collector who sent them to me without any exchange in return. While United Square spares no expense on their pair of yellow felt chicks, definitely bigger and better. Berries five eggies are another fun lot with their version of chicks in the egg that are actually on the front and the cracked eggshells as the flaps behind. Kenny Roasters 4pc chicken family set is quite a catchy set and was a challenge to complete as they distributed in pairs to different outlets. I was lucky to get my matching pair from my mom's colleague who initially wanted to keep for her own collection but later decided to let me complete my set instead... absolutely grateful!
Feels like Easter but it's just the baby chicks coming to town! EE Qing Beauty 5 colorful eggs hatches into adorable chicks each greeting the rooster year in their own special way. These are cardboard thick with the top part of the egg shell detachable.
Baby Kiko has a mother hen and her many little cute chicks, even uses the cracked egg shells not only as caps but as stools. These four pieces of fun and happy chicks are as cute as can be. Captain Oats four little humpty-dumpty are enjoying their breakfast oats in a beautiful garden under a rainbow purplish-pinkish sky. I do love the colors and even though they are actually wheat and not eggs they sure look like one > <
The single designed egg(s) packets are only a handful in my collection which makes me wonder if there are more out there (hmm). Starting off with a beautiful floral egg from Singapore Post which I believe should be the one and only egg printed on the inner flap, followed by some golden yellow eggs from BMS Organics and what looks like chicks walking in a half golden egg shells from One FM NTV7 8TV Tonton Wowshop Studio8. And when it comes to chicks in eggs, Small Potato delivered theirs in thirteen different ways (twelve in front and one at the back). I got them from the designer herself and they are delightful. While there is only one chick in the egg from Fiffy, it is just as adorable.
Gemfive continued with their purple theme, this round using the color for it's inner packet and their eleven chickens' crown and tail. Their version of egg is found at the back of the packet with half of the egg shell as the flap and once flipped open is the chick inside. Oh have you also noticed that there are quite a few packets with front flaps? Vital Links Technology from Singapore used the exact same design of colorful eggs as 2L Fashion & Beauty which is slightly larger in size and also part of their 4pc set (click here for complete set photo).
the cheeky hatchlings
They are the little ones, tiny chubby and simply adorable... 21 Kids is all about them and these yellow fuzzies are everywhere in this small size packet. Compass One is another one of those fun loving cuties and there are few others joining them below. Apple World takes their cheeky chicks on a journey through the four seasons, from spring to summer, autumn to winter, a beautiful and meaningful 6pcs set that tells it all.
The four sassy chicks from Daikin Singapore literally opens up into a more exciting world; On the outside, we see four different merry chick expressions, each with their own lucky greetings while on the inside we have falling yuanbao (sycee) with Daikin's two lovable mascots together with a few more happy chicks. These bright orange chicks are indeed a joyful lot to add on to my collection.
Meet the little ones from ASTRO family. I like their design on the screen folder because of the more prominent chicks and I like the MY FM series because of the more colorful selection. However I still prefer their older years' designs compared to the recent ones. What's your verdict?
Here's two cuties starting with a sea of white, yellow & brown chicks by Heguru. There is an egg as well can you spot it? f block papa and little chicky balls are just full of sunshine.
