Here comes the beautiful lion dances from Saxophone Design, this rooster year although only a single piece as compared to their more catchy sets in 2016 & 2015 (click on the year to view my FB photo), they are still full of spirit with two big golden lions on their flap while the front is packed with a bunch of delightful and colorful little ones! While Langham Place has my favorite purple-pink shade since 2015; Unfortunately I didn't manage to complete my lamb pair which I am missing it's pink partner and that I also didn't have their 2017 mahjong theme pair in my collection as well. That brings us to the two unique and charming zodiac pairs that I have below, the pink schnauzers and the monkey kings, both are a favorite of mine!!
Loving the use of the gorgeous purple on my one and only Woo Luxury set that I traded with a senior collector whom is unfortunately no longer active in the FB group. The flowers are mesmerizing especially with the graceful butterflies, they simply just make my problems flutter away. And speaking of butterflies the big and delicate die cut queen accompanied by the little yellow ones from Asia Miles are indeed a head turner pair.
FROM HONG KONG WITH LUV❤♫
Loving the stunning beauties from MTR Malls 2017 & 2016, both playing with floral motif but this year with an added layer of Chinese traditions; sedan chair (轿子), window, robe and rice bowl. Different paper qualities and each with it's unique beauty, both years are a favorite of mine. Fun fact: Did you know that sedan chairs were once the only public conveyance in Hong Kong, filling the role of cabs?
~ MADE IN CHINA ~
We have more beautiful floral designs from China and this rooster year 漫工厂 Man Gong Chang captured my heart with their ten different front-back matching floral piece and they are from left: Hongmei 红梅,Begonia 海棠,Hibiscus 芙蓉, Hydrangea 绣球花,Canna 美人蕉,Osmanthus 金桂, Rhododendron 杜鹃,Chrysanthemum 秋菊,Trumpet Creeper 凌霄 and Peony 芍药. Cheering Show from 2016 12pcs butterflies set reduced to a 6pc set with a lovely casing in 2017 but 2018 they are back with not one but 3 big sets, each in their own box too!
Next we have a few adorable sets from China starting with the Queens from Meizhou Island and the rest featuring the playful pup and joyful roosters. 烟雨集 Yan Yu Ji retaining their thick 10pcs kids cum zodiac theme, both the doggie and chicken mother-child set are equally delightful with an added doggie flap this year that I am loving very much. They also have another 4pc doggies set that features the fortune bat.
Ms Tina flew their farm bird in a UFO, sailed the ocean, showing off their fortune rooster and a macho boxer in the 4pcs set above while below are two of my latest addition; China Southern Power Grid tricolor chicken lighting a big firecracker and another adorable trio party of a giraffe, bunny and teddy from 米饼儿 Mǐ Bǐng Er
Ping An Insurance as previous years continued with their big 10 pcs zodiac set from the monkey kings in 2016, to the chubby chicks in 2017 and the "paws"-perous doggies in 2018 with an additional children set (short version). Check out their piggies (click here).
有礼有节
You Li You Jie
My story of You Li You Jie began in 2015 where a friend of my mother's gave me a set of the goat while another new collector friend then gave me the other four season set that I absolutely adored. Back then I didn't know that they are from China and hence the story continues the following year where a beautiful friendship with another collector blossomed. She helped to round up those little swinging monkeys and the other fortune animals, a.k.a Five Blessings 五福 set while I traded the 2017 birdies that is filled with colors and lovely floral. And finally in 2018, she got me their latest 8pcs "giant doggies coming to town" theme that can be joined from top to bottom, both tall and short version as well as their signature 12pcs mother child 遛遛遛 liu liu liu (遛狗 means walking the dog). I can't thank her enough for the kindness and generosity as all of the other China collections are from her as well (xoxo). Don't forget to visit their piggies (click here).
Before continuing with the other HK packets, here is the elegant Wynn from Macau. I have been told since I started trading in 2015 by many collectors that their designs and quality are one of the best. Truly lucky to have a pair for my collection finally, thank you my dear♥(˘⌣˘ C)

The Link took a different approach from their 4pc floral set in 2016 to a pair of rooster in blue and pink background. I do like the embossed golden egg and the two different presentation of their birds. Looking and feeling very different in both years, they are certainly beautiful in their own way.
The second set that features eggs in my collection from Hong Kong is from Lane Crawford. Here comes the swimmers from HK DAB pink and golden fishes that is paired with the golden dandelion, Times Square golden mother-child pair with Koi and the colorful Antalis fishes that are beautifully designed with real stitches and even though small in size they still stand out in the crowd. iSquare single die cut piece brings it's phoenix to life by a slow outward movement of the insert. From the HK Insurance companies I only have AIA and MSIG. AIA has a pair of lovely crane in pink and orange while MSIG is just a single lion dance design.
Also a small size packet, Love Baby Love Pet pooch is a lion dancer as well while below we have Squly and friends by e-print e-banner in four different bright shades followed by the four adorable friends in bowl from Yoshinoya, delightful to have them as part of my collection.
Designed by a 19 year old 瑤瑤 林卓瑤 Yiuyiu Michelle Lam, OCS Chrisly Cafe has a lovely 8pcs set that tells a colorful story of the Chinese New Year in Hong Kong.
HK Post carried on with their two versions of collectible sets for 2017 & 2018. 2017 has the first 4pc set with a hot-stamping zodiac rooster on the top and another 4pcs with the Chinese zodiac word " 雞 " in Chinese traditional which is pronounced as " ji " meaning " chicken ". The difference in 2018 is a set with paw prints and another with the fortune bat. Both years having different backgrounds as well for each version unlike the same plain backing in 2016 (click here) or find the 2010-2018 series in my FB album here.
While my 2017 Starbucks collection is only limited to China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia as compared to Korea and Taiwan that I managed to trade in 2016 (click here for 2016 HK page), my 2018 is even lesser with just Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore. On the other hand, gotta thank Apryl for getting another cafe angpow from Hong Kong which is the colorful 4pc rooster sets from Pacific Coffee. There is a mobile app that can bring these joyful roosters to life too.
Hong Kong Mcdonalds 4pcs set is absolutely adorable featuring the Japanese Rilakkuma bears, they even come in a holder that has a pop up of their four joyful characters. Another teddy and his pal dressed up in a chicken suit is Lycee & Friends together they bring blessing to the new year. What can be more fun loving then a bunch of doggies and kitties; Charity Bazaar 4stray Animals delightful pair with a doggy nose and cat paw flaps are just full of fun and love especially for pet lovers. Another cat and dog pair is Woo which is small in size but good in quality.
More doggies and this time round it's the zodiac of the year for 2018. From the non-profit charity and shelter we have the Bazaar for Strays and this time in a lovely set of four while from HK Dog Rescue is an adorable pair of total 10 different breeds, five on each piece. Mary Kay caught my attention as soon as I saw them. I just love the five multi colors canine.
Next we have a few single designs; from Ted Baker that has paw prints all over it to a big smiley corgi flap from Genki Sushi. Next we have the pairing of the cat and dog from Pet Direct and another pairing of the monkey and dog from Monkey Tree English Learning Centre. Kelly this year has a pair of golden doggies in yellow and green, though it's nothing as unique as their green-orange rooster.

Above is a set of three die cut design from Marriott using the purple shade for their noodle bowl, rooster and auspicious greetings. Toys R Us rooster and giraffe dressed up in purple to greet not only the fans in Hong Kong but Singapore and Malaysia as well. The one and only year so far that I am able to collect all three countries.
We have the happy chick from HK Celebration Association where the chick smiles with it's eyes closed when the flap is pulled upwards, this is called "smizing". We have a few other single but delightful designs from Boutir Collect, Ryoyu Bakery, First Credit and Spiral Magazine.
Teamarking rooster trio, whether in plain green, shinning sliver or felt tail feathers, they are standing tall and crowing with pride. Sun Hung Kai roosters are so smart looking with the top hat and bow-tie, all ready to welcome a rich year ahead. Pioneer Centre glossy rooster pair is beautiful but unfortunately not through my scanner. Another duo with a pointy flap is W Hong Kong Hotel in Kowloon and their roosters with the newly hatched chicks are catchy in bright yellow while just as bright and joyful is Facebook rooster trio, each an unique illustration on it's own.
Orbis (2017) 8pcs mother-child set is colorful each with a separate design, individually unique and so is Chinney Group (2018) carrying the same vibrant colors giving us fish, vase and crane in their lovely 3pcs set. Another 3pcs set with the same tall and two shorties is Starpro Agency using a different shade of purple and filling up the Chinese characters with plenty of colors. Continuing the 2017 series is Yata pair, a much softer and sweeter touch with their butterflies and birdies. Chow Sang Sang is a single design and a small size packet but it's filled with vibrant colors.
Heel & Toe has these gorgeous gold fish, especially the lovely tail strokes that I am so mesmerized with. Scroll back up to admire the other fish design from Times Square, HK DAB and Antalis that is using real stitch-on. Also carrying a little yellow is Two Girls wearing yellow cheongsam while another design from Heel & Toe also played with a yellow and another peach background accompanied by abstract floral.
IKEA is slightly different from the rest of the Hong Kong packets as they chose to use different paper and less color. One would expect IKEA to give us more then just the basic, right?
Next are the happy kids from Centaline forming a circle of fun celebration. Luk Fook family emerging from the bushy floral is next, looking so joyful and so are the DBS kids from HK which are the same design as Singapore's but then again only HK has the small size/short version and of cause the wordings on the flaps are in Chinese as well.
ICBC Mother-child pair of it's adorable rooster mascot is a favorite of mine this year. This golden packet, thicker paper and the bigger size duo is a sure keeper. Also having a golden and red pair are Citibank and HSBC (2018) while it's 2017 a mother-child fish pair and another design although smaller in size it's red embossing is shining in style. Joining the HSBC family are the Jade in ruby red (2017) and another in gold (2018).
Pictet above is a classy pair of die-cut flowers and birdies in gold and red while another gorgeous die cut set is from Legg Mason Global Asset Management that is standing out in a much sweeter tone of purple-pink rather than the normal red-gold combination. Keeping the design but using the red and peach is their Singapore counterpart and what a picture perfect they make together. Deutsche Bank (both 2017 & 2018) as well as Wells Fargo used the same flap design with good paper, the latter definitely caught my attention with the pink peonies. Next is Credit Suisse pup that is plain and simple as compared to their Singapore counterparts.
The mother-child duo from Bank of Communication and Franklin Templeton Investments are both parading their golden roosters. Westpac from Australia is looking smart with its version of golden rooster along with the Chinese character fu. Auspicious koi fishes are swimming elegantly from Vistra, Bank of China Private Banking, and Standard Chartered.
Well folks, that's all for now so remember to come back for my next update soon. In the meantime hop over to my
